It’s time to celebrate how delicious Ontario is, with our fourth annual Farmers Picnic !!
Wednesday June 15th, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm
It’s that special time of the year again, when we send our kids to school with a useless sweater just in case, and we are reminded that sunscreen is important when they walk in the door with warm cheeks and newly freckled arms. The nice weather is officially upon us, and we’re celebrating with our annual Farmers Picnic! Hosted right here at the farm on Wednesday June 15th, from 5:30 to 8:30. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for children aged 2-12. Babes in arms are free, just like always. This fundraiser helps us to maintain our beautiful and delicious gardens and animal friends to their high and mighty standards. They only like the best hay, and we like to keep them happy. Well fed friends are happy friends, right?!
And speaking of well fed… we LOVE this event! We make delicious BBQed honey garlic sausages, set up a mashed potato bar, have a ton of salads and veggies, and we eat like kings and queens**. After the main feast, it’s time for dessert! Enjoy some frozen yogurt from the amazing folks at The Fro.Zen Trolley, and hang out at the fruit and cookie trays. Erick Traplin will join us for a dance party, we can milk Mootilda the cow (she’s lifesize and awesome), and there’s a GIANT box of corn and tractors to play in. Yellow Brick Road Photography will be here with her camera to capture memories, and has a few spaces open if you would like to pre-book a photo session with her. This event would be boring without their time and care, and we are so excited that they like us enough to keep coming back each year.
Erick Traplin plays at 6:15, and we follow up his famous show with our world renowned family Scavenger Hunt. Take part with your crew, and see where it takes you! Prizes for all who participate!
This event is only possible through the generous sponsorship of Dutchies Fresh Market and RBJ Schlegel, two phenomenal companies that make wonderful differences in our community. We thank them so much for their support!
** A possibly sad endnote: We have meat, bread, and dairy at this picnic. We understand that some folks have dietary restrictions, and we’re sad we can’t accommodate you more with alternative meals! We will always and forever be a NUT FREE facility, but that’s about as far as we can take it. We appreciate your understanding, even if it makes you a little bit grumpy.
