Common Questions we hear….
Can you come and see the barn?
Tours are offered on most weekdays between the hours of 9-5, from mid April until the snow hits the ground. Weekends are unavailable, as we are booked for weddings and events, and we like to extend the courtesy of a private site for our guests. We do not offer site tours during the winter months for safety reasons. We host an open house at the end of April where our Catering partners will also be present. This is always the first chance of the year to see how beautiful the farm is!
What comes with the rental?
Our site is a “blank slate” venue which means everything is brought in. Washrooms have been built inside the barn as of May 2017. Our select caterers are full service, and handle tables, chairs, linens etc. We provide the site, have a staff member here during the day to answer questions and assist during set up if need be, and provide 2 security guards who ensure the safety of the site and your guests. NEW FOR 2019 – We are in the process of having 22 8 foot long harvest tables custom made, which will be available at no additional cost to our couples.
How do we go about booking the barn?
Once you’ve said yes to the space, we will go over a detailed contract. When you complete the contract and provide a deposit of 50% of the rental fee (non-refundable) your date will be secure. We do not ‘hold’ dates without a deposit, and are booked on a first come first serve basis.
Can we do our own bar?
Sorry, no. Alcohol may only be served by our 2 caterers. Bingemans is a full service provider and handles everything. If you wish to have a cash bar, they are your best choice. If you wish to have a host bar only, then Little Mushroom will be an option for you! With Little Mushroom you will need to secure a NO SALE SOP, and must also secure additional Party Alcohol Liability insurance for $5 million. This means you cannot sell or collect money in any way for drinks. Please note that with either of our caterers, no shots or doubles are permitted.
Is there any way I can bring in a caterer of my choice?
Sorry, no. Our site has unique challenges due to it’s heritage designation and layout. We are only able to work with two exceptional caterers with whom we have an amazing relationship and are confident in their care of the site. Both are flexible, and offer a wide array of options, sure to cover all of your needs!
What do you have for bathrooms?
There are three bathrooms newly built inside the barn, completed as of May 2017. In addition, we have a bathroom building by the orchard, with two unisex accessible bathrooms that are fully serviced.
Are you an accessible site?
We are not a “fully accessible” site as we have no concrete pathways etc. That said, we are definitely wheelchair friendly. Our bathrooms are accessible, as is the barn. We also are happy to arrange priority parking for those with mobility concerns.
Can my dog(s) be in the wedding?
Yes, your dog(s) can be a part of your ceremony. We will require that you complete a waiver and provide us with an up to date vaccination record prior to your event. Please note that the pet will not be permitted inside any buildings on site, including the barn.
Do you charge a Landmark Fee?
A landmark fee is required to be remitted to us, by our preferred caterers from the final catering bill for food and beverages, and it is up to the caterer whether the fee is charged directly to the client or not.
