WHAT? It is a summer day camp for 6 to 12 year olds
WHEN? Offered in one week sessions for July and August. Normal camp hours are from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with the opportunity for extended care between 8 and 5:15.
WHERE? Right here at the Farm in the City! We are located between Strasburg Rd. and Trillium Dr. on Bleams Rd. We are a Heritage designated site, with the original farm buildings dating back to the mid-1800's. We have animals (cows, sheep, pigs, goats, miniature horses, ducks, goose, chickens, turkeys) that represent the many animals you might find being cared for at Ontario Farms! We also have HUGE gardens which grow many different market vegetables that our campers help care for, cook with, and EAT!
WHO? We hope YOU! We welcome children entering Grade 1 up to the age of 12 in our camp. We also offer a leadership program for older participants and NEW for 2012..... Agriventure Jr. for campers aged 4, 5, 6.
We have an exceptional staff of mature, enthusiastic and caring individuals to mentor and support your child while giving them an amazing and fun experience when here. Campers enjoy a variety of hands-on learning activities including gardening; harvesting produce; cooking with Steckle Homestead recipes; playing games; crafting and getting to know and take care of our farm animals.
There will be some new opportunities to be experienced in 2012, and great new chances to get your hands dirty and really have a farm adventure!
